“I am so thankful Karen is running for re-election! Lakewood City Council needs her common sense, ethics, and leadership -- she has made such a difference the last four years. Karen has listened to residents' concerns, supported smart growth so we have good job and housing options, and made fiscally responsible decisions.  We need Karen to to serve Lakewood and Ward 5 for another term!"

Karen knows the City of Lakewood.  She and her family have lived here for 30 years.  She respects our heritage and, at the same time,  is not afraid to address the positive changes that any quality city has to face.  She is a successful small business owner and active community volunteer.   Karen is a genuine person who understands the importance of listening, working together and respecting different points of view.  We know that Karen’s proven leadership makes her the ideal person to serve another four years as our Ward 5 Lakewood City Council Representative.

Karen’s involvement in our community is impressive.  She is active in numerous community organizations including South Lakewood Business Association, Vice President of the Action Center, a past chair of our Commission for an Inclusive Community (ACIC) and served as a Lakewood Planning Commissioner.  Her numerous experiences are priceless in understanding our community and having the background to make sound decisions as a member of our Lakewood city council.

We have known Karen Harrison for over 20 years and we have always been impressed with her knowledge, dedication, hard work, and empathy to whatever cause she is involved in.  She has been an excellent representative for Ward 5 on Lakewood's City Council.  She has been consistent in holding her Saturday morning monthly meetings to keep us informed with the current events of Lakewood.  We know she will do an outstanding job in her second term.  We support Karen 100%.

My wife and I are giving our very strongest endorsement for Karen Harrison as she seeks re-election for Lakewood City Council in Ward 5.  Karen before her term on City Council was an active member of ACIC (The Advisory Committee for an Inclusive Community).  ACIC does extensive research and community outreach and makes recommendations to the Lakewood City Council regarding policy decisions.  This is a great way to begin understanding the community and the workings of local politics.

Having watched Karen in her role on City Council and from attending a few of her Ward 5 meetings, it is clear that Karen works hard in her role on City Council to understand the complexity of issues in Lakewood and to engage members of Ward 5 to share their thoughts on the issues.  Karen is an excellent listener.  But Karen also understands that you have to do more than just listen.  As a City Councilor, you will be asked to make some tough decisions; decisions which divide the community.  You have to weigh the pros and cons of an issue and then decide what will be the best long-range decision that is in the best interest of Lakewood in the long run.  According to Edmund Burke - author, orator, political theorist, philosopher, and member of English Parliament in the 18th Century, “Your Representative owes you, not his industry only, but his judgment; and he betrays, instead of serving you, if he sacrifices it to your opinion."

Karen brings experience, compassion, and sound business acumen to the position of City Council in Lakewood.  We need her dedication to continue to guide Lakewood for another four years.

Karen brings deep knowledge & experience, heart of gold, and a level head to every conversation.  She serves in a truly non partisan way and can be counted on to: do what is right & financially responsible, consider all ages, and look toward the future no matter the issue.  She immediately responds to resident concerns, and has stood up for property rights, education, quality of life, senior issues, sustainability, parks and open space, our police and more.  We need to keep Karen's steady, positive, respectful voice at the table to keep Lakewood moving forward.
